Mexico, officially known as the United Mexican States, is a North American federal constitutional republic. The country has a population of 115.6 million of which 60% are Mestizo (Amerindian-Spanish) and 30% are Amerindian. The majority of Mexicans speak Spanish but interestingly the country has no official national language. Mexican culture has undergone tremendous transformation over the past few decades and varies across the country. However, extended families still remain central to their society. Mexican economy is the 16th largest in the world in nominal terms and 11th by purchasing power parity (PPP). Mexico has a free market economy with a mix of modern industries and agriculture. Mexico’s GDP is $1.047 trillion (2017).
